Futurhythm Machines — a workshop and live showcase of DIY sound and visualization tools. Beginning with a hands-on synthesizer session led by the Center for Concrete and Abstract Machines (CCAM) in Chicago, the event opens into an informal, drop-in experience where visitors are welcome to observe, listen, and engage at their own pace. Watch as artists experiment with custom-built analog instruments, generating evolving soundscapes through collective listening and physical interaction. The event concludes with an informal jam session featuring audio-responsive visuals and closing conversation that situates the activity within the cultural lineage of Chicago House music and related experimental traditions. Together, these practices highlight alternative approaches to creative technology while helping us imagine the technology-rich futures we aspire to build.
